As long as you smile and not make big mistakes, it will still be love

Posted on 13/06/202302/03/2026 by Lakshmi

I am not looking for anything, speaking about love or dating.

I am just working and focussed on what I am supposed to be doing.
I have to admit, sometimes I have no clue what that is.

But when it comes to love, things happen without that we even know it.

Because I am just focussed on myself, I somehow noticed.

It was when I was working in the restaurant.

Working gives me a feeling of belonging.
It is fulfilling.

I have to admit I have days when people show up and are really annoying.

I guess every job has something negative.

For me, the job is quite easy.
It is where I can relax my mind and not think about anything.
Also because it is so extremely busy.
Even if I want to, there is no time to think.

As mentioned before, whenever I have a hard time with the clients, I just take their order and walk away.
It gives me the chance to immediately release this negativity.

But still, sometimes I do find it a bit intense.
This is where I stare a bit outside, or go to the bar and take the drinks to serve.

The audience who show up are very mixed.
From tourists till couples.
Friends to families with all their kids.
Of course also everyone I missed.

But in between all of these people and although I don’t always have the time to think.
For some reason there is always time to have a little rendez-vous.

It is this time, where I noticed something different.

I was standing at the corner to have my customer pay.
A middle aged guy, who was there with his family.

I didn’t really look further, because the restaurant is just very busy.
I only check who is sitting down, so I can adapt to what to say.

It is not really spectacular.

I asked if everything was fine and all of them nodded satisfied.
A meaning to say they liked the food.

The youngest was playing with the straw in her glass.
She had asked before, if she could take one from the bar.

‘If you can find the green one, you can take it’, was my answer.
She knew what I was saying, because she was speaking English.

By the time it was time to pay, she was still playing with it.
Minding herself in her own little world.

I don’t know if this is why the man of the family did what he did.
He gave me a tip that was quite extraordinary.

It could also be the reason, so I would notice.

I don’t really know what it meant that he gave me such a large amount.
Perhaps he found me attractive and this was his way to express.
I mean, he was there with his family.
And I have to admit, I am not the best waitress.

I think when it comes to love and expressing feelings, I don’t think that matters much.

As long as you smile and not make big mistakes, all will be fine.
Perhaps that is a life lesson in general.

Although when it comes to life, even big mistakes are not that important.
